Cecil Howard Walker

Funeral service to honor the life of Cecil Howard Walker will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 10:30 am in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 8:30 am until service time on Tuesday the 13th at Blanchard-St. Denis. Cecil Walker was a member of the Clarence Baptist Church in Clarence, Louisiana. He joined the Navy after high school and was stationed in San Diego, California from 1958-1962 where he worked as an airplane mechanic. After returning home to Clarence, he married Dimple Hardee from Campti, and they enjoyed forty-one years of marriage. Cecil was a dedicated husband, father, and an honored member of the community. His work ethic was renowned and has been passed down to his children. Cecil was a member of the Natchitoches Parish School Board for forty-four years where he served as President several times. He also worked in the oil field for forty years before retiring. He raised cattle and racehorses that he enjoyed very much. This love of agriculture began during high school and lasted throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed spending time with family and being outdoors. Cecil, known as Papa later in life, will be dearly missed by all of his children and grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dimple Walker. He is survived by his children, Mark Walker (Emmella), Wendell Walker (Kelly) and Amanda Knighton; grandchildren, Chase Walker, Harleigh Walker, Kendall Knighton, Hannah Walker, and Aden Knighton; and a brother, James Walker. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Dewayne Elliott, Terry Chesser, Terry Holland, Scottie Johnson, Ronald Dale Smith, and Johnny Woods.
