He was born on August 19, 1927, to Noah and Lucy Graham Cloud in Goldonna, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Loretta Ann Cloud; a great-grandson, Eli Bryant Shows; his first wife and the mother of his children, Alice Faye Cloud; sisters, Lessie Holly and Urzula Hatch; and brothers, Dalton Cloud and Dwight Cloud. He is survived by his children, Eugene Cloud and wife Debbie, David Cloud and wife Darlene, and Mary Shows and husband Jeff; grandchildren, John-Alan Cloud, Miranda Cloud McConathy, David “Bud” Cloud, Jr., Christopher Edward Cloud, Jared Bryant Shows and Joshua Brandon Shows; great-grandchildren, Gloria Faye Cloud, Sean Godfrey, Hope McConathy, Cassidy Renee Cloud, Jacob Asbury, Carson Lawrence Cloud, Gavin McConathy, Bruce Culpepper, Avah Brown, Grayson Shows, Korbin Shows, Molly Shows; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carson was a World War II veteran and honorably served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. A long-time member of Clarence Baptist Church, he had a deep faith in God. He held a soft spot in his heart for children and gave freely of his time to minister to them. He was always available to give them rides to Sunday School and church camps. Carson strived to reach perfection in everything he did, and he always grew the best gardens around and stated often “there is an art to everything”. A close friend to many, he never met a stranger, and selflessly gave even if it meant he did without. The impact he made on the lives of so many will never be forgotten, especially his children. His legacy will last for generations to come. We take comfort in knowing that we will be reunited with him in Heaven one day.
