Carolyn Smith Lonadier

Funeral services to honor the life of Carolyn Smith Lonadier will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2 pm at Christian Harmony Baptist Church (2019 LA-1226, Natchitoches, LA 71457). The funeral will be officiated by Brother David Matlock and Brother Eric Thompson. The viewing will be held from 10 am until 2 pm. Carolyn Lonadier’s final resting place will be St. Maurice Cemetery beside her husband. Any flowers or monetary donations can be sent to Christian Harmony Baptist Church. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Brennan Lonadier, Logan Lonadier, Tad Rains, Joe Trichel, Richard Barham, and Rodger Collum. Honorary pallbearers will be Rylan Lonadier and Eric Thompson. Carolyn Smith Lonadier was born October 1, 1946, in Magnolia, Mississippi to Thomas and Margie Smith. She passed away on February 14, 2022, surrounded by her family in Cleveland, Tennessee. In 1965, she married Bobby Lonadier and together they had three children. It was her goal at the time to see that her children were raised to adulthood. After her children were grown, she then decided to do something for herself. At the young age of 38, Carolyn started college and graduated in 1988 from Northwestern State University with a Master’s Degree in Teaching. Carolyn retired after giving 20 years changing the lives of others as a special education teacher for Natchitoches Parish. She frequently opened her home to anyone in need and became a second mother to many children. She was a caring and loving individual that put her family first. Carolyn enjoyed drinking coffee, reading, listening to Southern Gospel music and sermons, and playing with her favorite animals, Libby, Emmee, and Luna. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lonadier; son, Thomas Lonadier; parents, Thomas and Margie Smith; sister, Louise Smith; maternal grandparents, Wesley and Lula McKenzie; fraternal grandparents, Thomas and Stella Smith; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Smith and his wife Gina; her daughter, Tammy Adeniji and her husband Dayo; her son, Tracey Lonadier and his wife Amy; her daughter-in-law, Karen Briggs Lonadier; and 8 grandchildren, Leann Lonadier and fiancée Tad Rains, Haley Lonadier, Elisabeth Trichel, Brennan Lonadier, Logan Lonadier, Rylan Lonadier, Temidayo Adeniji, and Morayo Adeniji.
