She passed away on February 14, 2022, surrounded by her family in Cleveland, Tennessee. In 1965, she married Bobby Lonadier and together they had three children. It was her goal at the time to see that her children were raised to adulthood. After her children were grown, she then decided to do something for herself. Carolyn retired after giving 20 years changing the lives of others as a special education teacher for Natchitoches Parish. She frequently opened her home to anyone in need and became a second mother to many children. She was a caring and loving individual that put her family first. Carolyn enjoyed drinking coffee, reading, listening to Southern Gospel music and sermons, and playing with her favorite animals, Libby, Emmee, and Luna. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lonadier; son, Thomas Lonadier; parents, Thomas and Margie Smith; sister, Louise Smith; maternal grandparents, Wesley and Lula McKenzie; fraternal grandparents, Thomas and Stella Smith; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Smith and his wife Gina; her daughter, Tammy Adeniji and her husband Dayo; her son, Tracey Lonadier and his wife Amy; her daughter-in-law, Karen Briggs Lonadier; and 8 grandchildren, Leann Lonadier and fiancée Tad Rains, Haley Lonadier, Elisabeth Trichel, Brennan Lonadier, Logan Lonadier, Rylan Lonadier, Temidayo Adeniji, and Morayo Adeniji.
