A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Carol Taylor Mondello will be held at 10 am Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Powhattan, LA with Rev. Rothell Price officiating. Entombment will follow at Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Monday the 24th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 pm. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Joseph Hester, Christian Sanderson, Kelby Sanderson, Wayne Moore, Pat Mondello, and Tony Leone, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Hester, Emmerson Ledesma, Richard Jefferson, Pete Leone, Tony Leone, Sr., Ned Henry, Casey Messenger, Dr. Robert Hernandez, and Merlin Squires. Carol Taylor Mondello passed away on February 19, 2020, at Progressive Care Center in Shreveport, LA. She was born on November 9, 1938, to Willis Hardy Taylor, Sr. and Rosa Dowden Taylor in Kisatchie, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband John Joseph Mondello. Carol had an unconditionally loving and giving quality and would help anyone that she possibly could. Her passion in life was spending time with her family. She was a hard worker and loved to work at the family store and on the farm with her husband John, but neither came before her family. During her free time, she enjoyed reading and amassed a large library of books. She was a devout Catholic and daily recited the Holy Rosary. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Catholic Church in Powhattan, LA and enjoyed fellowship with her church family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Sonia Hester and husband Danny and Tara Mondello and Emmerson Ledesma; grandchildren, Joseph Laurie Hester and wife Pamela, Casey Renee Jefferson and husband Richard, John Christian Sanderson, and Kelby Thomas Sanderson; great-grandchildren, Taylor Le’ann Hester, Austin Laurie Hester, Faith Maria Hester, and Savanah Reese Hester; a sister, Katherine Victoria Tanner; a brother, Oren Wade Taylor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she loved like her own children. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Progressive Care Center and Regional Hospice for their compassionate care during such a difficult time.
