Carmen Gene Walker

Carmen Gene Walker of Keatchie, LA was born on April 23, 1956 to Michael W. Walker, Sr. and Marguerite Guilliams Walker in Shreveport, LA. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 66 on August 15, 2022, after a long courageous battle with health issues. He was sweet, loving, caring, and will be greatly missed by many, and forever in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; brothers, Michael W. (Mickey) Walker, Jr., Charles “David” Walker, and Johnny Walker; his father and mother-in-law, Hubert and Laverne Barnhill; and nephews John Colligan and Eric Walker. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 31 years, Angea Barnhill Walker of Keatchie, LA; his children, Elisha Walker Holt, Christine Walker Vincent, and Matthew Walker; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers Benny Walker of Iowa Park, TX, Bobby Walker of Elgin, TX, Barry Walker of Natchitoches, LA; sisters, Myra Myers (Clem) of McKinney, TX and Charlotte Bissell (Matthew) of Shreveport, LA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. After many years working in road construction and assistant manager of Discount Building Materials, he retired at an early age due to health issues. He enjoyed loving on his dogs and spending time with the love of his life, soul mate, and best friend, his wife. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. The Lord said, “Welcome to Heaven my good and faithful servant.” Visitation will be Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Bro. Ronny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville, LA. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Mike Fitzgerald, Matthew Bissell, Clem Myers, David Green, Glen Barnhill, and Denny Savannah.
