C W Weeks, a well-known figure in Natchitoches, passed away on October 6, 2025, in Coushatta, LA, at the age of 80. Born on December 1, 1944, in Natchitoches, LA to Charlie and Willie Mae Broadway Weeks.
C W was known for his versatile career, adeptly navigating various fields throughout his life. He began his professional journey as a butcher, later finding his passion as an automotive mechanic and ultimately the Shop Foreman at the Chevrolet dealership in Natchitoches. His dedication to his craft led him to a rewarding career at Vo-Tech school, where he profoundly impacted many young minds, sharing his extensive knowledge and expertise as a mechanic.
Educated at Northwestern State University following his high school graduation, C W embraced learning and teaching alike. His talents, however, extended far beyond his professional endeavors. He raised and sold quarter horses, raised cattle and numerous farm animals, and had gardens galore enjoying the serene life that comes from working the land. As a skilled mechanic, he built and raced cars for many years. He found solace in music, often drawn to its melodies that accompanied his multifaceted and engaging lifestyle, earning him a reputation as a renaissance man among his family. Known for his steady hand and keen eye, he was an exceptional marksman, never missing his target. He enjoyed woodworking and was a gifted artist. In his downtime, he enjoyed reading and held a passion for history.
C W’s passing leaves behind a loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife and the love of his life, Mary Ann Free Weeks of Marthaville, LA, and on October 21st they would have shared 63 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter, Miriam Weeks of Marthaville; his grandson, Bryan Weeks of Marthaville, LA; his brothers, Elton Weeks and wife Karen of Blairsville, PA, and Tony Weeks of Provencal, LA; as well as his sister, Angela Johanson and husband Chris of Greenville, SC. He will be remembered fondly by his aunt, Dottie Smith, and sister-in-law, Edreth Free as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
C W was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Willie Mae Broadway Weeks; his brother, Charlie Weeks, Jr.; and his sister, Irma Jean Weeks. His legacy is one of love, skill, and respect, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on October 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, located at 848 Keyser Ave, Natchitoches, LA 71457. Recitation of the Holy Rosary by Father Irion St. Romain will be held at 6:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. The funeral service will take place the following day, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Jennings Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Marthaville, LA, with Bro Butch Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Jennings Chapel Cemetery.
C W Weeks will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and community. His spirit, characterized by warmth, capability, and kindness, endearing him as someone who never met a stranger and willing to help anyone in need, will live on through the countless lives he touched.
