Bonnie Thompson

February 14, 1947 — July 28, 2025

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Bonnie Thompson, 78, a devoted wife, mother, and believer in Christ. Bonnie, of Robeline, LA, peacefully passed at Corpus Christi Medical Center of natural causes on Monday, July 28th, 2025.

She was born in Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras in 1947 to Fernell Tabora and Molly Whitefield, and enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood on the island. One of her favorite stories to tell was how she and a friend would go about the island picking mangoes off the neighbors’ trees and the trouble she got into as a result.

Bonnie was a devoted Christian who cherished her Bible and the teachings of her savior, Jesus. She was a long-time member of Rocky Mount Church of Robeline, LA, but in her later years attended Union Road Church of God in Gastonia, NC. She took solace in knowing the Lord was watching over her. Her favorite passage of Scripture was Psalm 1. Her Christian values informed every aspect of her life and molded her into the beloved person she was.

Bonnie was best known for her love for animals. During her life, it would be of no surprise to see her stopped on the side of the road feeding and/or rescuing stray animals.

Bonnie was preceded in death by son, Robert Jones; mother, Molly Warren; stepfather, Walter Warren; father, Fernell Tabora; and sister, Bethany Warren who she will meet again in Heaven, and is survived by husband, Adrian Thompson; son, Chris Jones (daughter-in-law, Kellie); daughter, Sandy Ray (son-in-law, Pratt); brother, Rev. J. Marvin Tabora; grandchildren: Tiffanie Mitchell, Dustin Jones, Courtney Schmidt, Morgan Sarah, Louis Rollins, Seth Jones, Joshua Ray, and Kai Jones; and stepchildren: Angela Thompson, Lesa Thompson, and Adrian Thompson, Jr.

Visitation for Bonnie will be from 9am to 11am on Saturday, August 2nd at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, and the funeral beginning at 11am immediately following. Officiating the service will be Reverend J. Marvin Tabora. She will be laid to rest at Rocky Mount Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged in her remembrance to FAUNA, (Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals). FAUNA is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) animal rescue based in Natchitoches, LA: https://www.npfauna.org/donate/.
