Billy Giddens, Sr.

William Henry “Billy” Giddens Sr. of Natchitoches, Louisiana passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020, at the age of 77. Billy was blessed by the devotion of Elisabeth Miller. He was a life-long member of Montgomery Methodist Church and they enjoyed attending weekly services together. Billy’s avid love of the outdoors was reflected in his hobbies and career pursuits. He loved hunting and fishing; and, he often mentioned how he loved the land that he farmed. Billy was the owner of Giddens Farm and CrawBilly’s Restaurant & Crawfish Catering Service. Billy was a generous, charismatic person with a refreshing sense of humor. He enjoyed telling stories of his adventures and laughing with his school friends from Montgomery; his Phi Gamma Delta “Fiji” fraternity brothers from LSU-Baton Rouge; his farm and restaurant crews; fellow members of Natchitoches Levee Board; and, many hunting and fishing buddies. “PawPaw Billy” especially loved the company of his granddaughters. He was a proud, doting, and fun-loving grandpa. He will be fondly remembered by his daughter Lisa Dawn Giddens Bryant; his son-in-law Grant Bryant; and, his granddaughters Lauren Ashley Bryant and Lauren Louise Giddens.  He will be laid to rest at Montgomery Cemetery alongside his son William “Bill” Giddens Jr.; his brother Thomas Michael “Mike” Giddens Sr.; his parents Oswald Ferris “Gid” Giddens and Ernestine Harrison Giddens; and, his maternal grandparents William Oswald “Billy” Harrison and Ida Eagan Harrison. His paternal grandparents were Henry Jonathan Giddens and Louella Giddens of Ringgold, Louisiana. Memorial donations are being accepted with gratitude by “Montgomery Cemetery Fund”, 190 Old Highway 71, Colfax LA 71417.
