Billie Floye Norris Pratt

November 24, 1929 — January 27, 2023

Funeral services for Billie Floye Norris Pratt, our beloved Mother and Memaw, will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Natchitoches. Our family will receive friends from 10:00AM with services beginning at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Fern Park Cemetery and friends of the family are welcome to join us back here at the Emmanuel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall for lunch, a reception, and hopefully some good stories about Mother! Billie Floye Norris Pratt, 93 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, went to be with her Savior on January 27, 2023 following a brief illness. She was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on November 24, 1929, to Davis Moraell Norris and Abbie Lucille Turbeville Norris. She is survived by her children, Paul Allan Pratt (Brenda), Deborah Pratt Vogel, Mark Davis Pratt (Marcia), Richard Carlyle Pratt (Angie), Pamela Pratt Cook, 12 grandchildren (Andrea Creswell, Amy Young, David Pratt, Matt Vogel, Julie Odom, Lauren Pratt, Adam Pratt, Alicia Mitchell, Carly Pratt , Caitlyn Pratt, Ray Cook, and Nicholas Cook), and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Gail Norris Green - Aunt Gail to all of us. Our Mom was pre-deceased by her husband and our father Paul Joshua Pratt (Papa Pratt) (married for over 47 years), her parents (Papa and Mama Norris to us kids), her beloved brother, William Moraell Norris (Uncle Joe) and so many of her dear friends and extended family. Mother was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church for over 75 years and taught children’s Sunday School and was active in WMU. Besides the full-time job of raising five children, creating a loving, stable, and Christian home, and loving and supporting our Dad, Mother was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, cook and a long term member of the Cane River Homemakers Club, and beloved “Memaw” to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our family would like to recognize the caring and loving nurses and staff at Garden Park Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center including, and especially, her granddaughter, Alicia Pratt Mitchell, Nurse Practitioner. We would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Willis Knighton Healthcare System. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Matt Vogel, David Pratt, Ray Cook, Adam Pratt, and Nicholas Cook and her great-grandson, Carter Pratt. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, the Willie Ethyl Boydston Scholarship Fund at the NSU Foundation, or the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
