Bert "B. R." Whitehead

A service to honor the life of B. R. Whitehead will be Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10 am at Provencal Free Methodist Church with Brother Jim Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Provencal Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 5 pm until 9 pm at Provencal Free Methodist Church. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Larry Whitehead, Semme Whitehead, Clilnt Whitehead, Matthew Whitehead, Morgan McCallister, David Ivy, and Tyler Tousek. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dennis Scarborough. B. R. Whitehead went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 16, 2022 at the age of 93 at home surrounded with love. He was born on July 30, 1928, to Burt Ray and Alphie Horn Whitehead in Provencal, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Burt and Alphie Whitehead; a sister, Evelyn; and a son, Larry Whitehead. B. R. is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 63 years, Elsie Whitehead. He is also survivied by his daughter Dianne Whitehead, his two sons, Horace Whitehead and wife, Pam, and Bert Whitehead and wife, Ann; grandchildren, Morgan McCallister and wife Kelly, Krysten Tousek and husband, Timmy, Gabrielle Ivy and husband David, Larry Whitehead and wife Maria, Clint Whitehead and wife Ashley, Semme and Matthew Whitehead, Amanda Weems and husband Wade; great-grandchildren, Addison and Lily Ivy, Colton Whitehead, Jennifer Whitehead, Tyler, Tiffany, and Taylor Tousek, Shelby, Katie, Michael, Matthew, and Caleb McCallister. B. R. loved the Lord with all of his heart and he loved his church family where he attended, at Provencal Free Methodist Church since he was a young man. He was known for his passion and love for gardening and plowing the fields with his mules. He always had such a beautiful and abundant harvest that he was so proud to share. He will truly be missed and remembered by so many.
