A gathering to honor and remember a life well lived for Bennie (Pud) Simmons will be held at 2 pm Saturday, November 20, 2021 at his residence in Flora, LA with Bro. Jeff Taylor officiating. Bennie Dwayne Simmons, 65 years of age and a resident of Flora, passed away on November 16, 2021 in Shreveport, LA. He was born on April 16, 1956 to Dock and Elaine Simmons in Natchitoches, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rickie Simmons and his wife Jeanette. Known by all as Pud, he was an auto mechanic by trade but there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He was a dedicated employee at Pines Chrysler for 20 years. Pud had a “happy-go-lucky” nature about him and was a very outgoing and charismatic person. He truly never met a stranger and would help anyone, even if it meant he sacrificed his own needs. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 46 years, Ann Cobb Simmons; daughters, Brandy Simmons and Marsha McFerren and her husband Mark; grandchildren, Jaykob Harrison, Dakota McFerren and Hunter McFerren; brothers, Dock Simmons and wife Patsy and Darren Simmons and wife Marcia; nephews, nieces, and many close friends; as well as his closest companions, Holly and Ava, his beloved dogs that never left his side.
