With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, we remember Barbara Lynne Cook, known to most as Lynne Cook, who passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, in Saline, Louisiana. Born on March 21, 1946, in Crossett, Arkansas, Lynne's 80 years on earth were defined by unwavering devotion to family, steadfast faith, and a boundless generosity of spirit.

To those who knew her best, Lynne embodied the gentle beauty of simple country living. Her greatest calling was as a homemaker, a role she embraced with humility and pride, ensuring that her home was forever filled with warmth, comfort, and laughter. Family meant everything to Lynne. She poured her heart into raising her children and later, nurturing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with tenderness, strength, and selfless love. The nourishment she provided extended far beyond the kitchen table, yet it is impossible not to recall the signature dishes she prepared: chicken and dumplings, gumbo, and potato soup were just a few of the favorites that became beloved family traditions. Lynne always made extra pots for her children and grandchildren.

Her faith anchored her, guiding her actions and enriching her days. Lynne found deep joy in attending Oasis of Love Fellowship in Natchitoches, where she cherished the opportunity to worship her Lord and Savior alongside her church family. In moments of praise, she radiated a quiet joy that touched everyone around her and strengthened the bonds of those she loved.

Lynne was a woman of resilience, a two-time cancer survivor whose enduring courage inspired those in her life. Even as her health declined in recent years, she held on to the small pleasures, such as crocheting, which brought her comfort and creative expression.

Lynne is survived by her loving son, Ronnie Gene Kelley, and devoted daughter, Deena Kelley; her caring sister, Brenda Johnson; as well as her 4 cherished grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, and the many nieces, nephews, and cousins whose lives she enriched with her kindness and steady presence.

She now reunites with her beloved husband, Perry Cook, and her dear parents, Terry Willie Gray and Anita Rae Shelton Gray, whose memories she carried in her heart every day.

The family finds solace in knowing that Lynne’s gentle spirit and enduring love live on in those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of devotion, faith, and generosity will remain a guiding light for generations to come.

Graveside service for Lynne will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday August 8, 2026 at Bellwood Cemetery with Rev. Jeri Kilpatrick and Rev. Frances Allen officiating. The family will receive friends from 8 AM to 10 AM on Saturday the 8th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
