Audrey Ann (Oden) Gardner

A Christian graveside service for Audrey Ann (Oden) Gardner will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 11 am until 12:45 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home on March 7th. Audrey made a profession of faith and love for her Savior the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God and was baptized at Ingleside Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA by Dr. T.C. Pennell. She repented and was covered by the blood of Jesus Christ the Son and was cleansed from all sin, 1 John 1:7. Audrey was born to Oliver and Viola May Oden on October 21, 1933 in Shreveport, LA. She passed away on March 4, 2023 in Alexandria, LA at the age of 89. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Donald O. Gardner; daughter, Glenda Ann Jackson and son-in-law, Sammy Jackson; granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Jackson; parents, Oliver Foy and Viola May Oden; two brothers, James and Earl Oden; and a sister, Bess Woodruff. Audrey loved her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory is her granddaughter, Valerie Lake and husband Charles and their children, Alana Grace Lake and Samuel Lake. Audrey was always very active in her church home of The New Testament Baptist Church or any other churches she was a member. She always took joy in abounding in the works of the Lord. For as much as you know your labor is not in vain in the Lord, 1 Corinthians 15:58. She believed in the Holy Spirit and believed the gospel of death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. She truly loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, strength and mind. Audrey had a special place in her heart for poor and needy children, for which she faithfully knitted sweaters to be sent to countries throughout the world.
