Audrey Rachal Gallien

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Audrey Rachal Gallien will be at 2 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Natchitoches with Rev. Jose Pallipurath serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery at Old River near Natchez, LA. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 7th from 10 am until 1:45 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Recitation of The Holy Rosary to be held at 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel. Audrey, 89 years of age and a long-time resident of Flora, passed away on July 1, 2022. She was born on April 4, 1933 to Numa and Victoria Longlois Rachal. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 57 years, Leroy Gallien; and sons-in-law, Tim Foucheux and Lynn Bennett. Audrey was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Her love for life was contagious and she participated to the fullest. She will be remembered as a tiny, but strong willed, 98 pound bundle of pure energy and spunk. Audrey loved Saturday night dancing with LeRoy and their good friends. She loved Coca Cola, shopping, new clothes, big earrings and high heel shoes. She enjoyed manicured nails and getting her hair done by Sandy Bennett. Audrey never met a stranger and her home was always open to everyone. She talked many young adults through hard times and did all she could for the elderly, ill, and shut in. She had a passion for feeding her family and guests, whether hungry or not, you were served a dish of whatever was on her menu and a Coke. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Deborah Bennett and Angela Hernandez and her husband Garlin; son, Derryl Gallien and his wife Jennifer; and Susan Dowden Davis, whom she loved as a daughter; seven grandchildren, Amanda Everage and her husband Cole, Dustin Bennett and his wife Allie, Tyler Bennett and his wife Britney, Lauren Boudreaux and her husband Micah, Meaghan Gore and her husband Billy, Chad James and his wife Missy and Jesse James; great grandchildren, Xander Long, Victor Everage, Thomas Everage, Andy James, Landry James, Sadie Bennett, Adriana Bennett, Tyson Bennett, Odin Gore and Miller Gore; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Dustin Bennett, Tyler Bennett, Lesley Bennett, Charles Tynes, Fred Carter, and Crit Miller. Glenn Vascocu will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
