Arnold Dale Sims

Arnold Dale Sims 71, of Robeline, went to his eternal home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 25, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Ruben and Gladys Sims; paternal grandparents Jesse 'Jake' and Fannie Sims; maternal grandparents Morris and Ellie Smith; and his youngest son, Adam Dale Sims. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Frances Sims of Robeline; sons, Brandon Shea Sims and Jennifer of Robeline and Luke Dalton Sims of Avinger, Texas; grandsons, Marshall Sims stationed at Ft Bragg, North Carolina, Ethan Sims of Many, and Diederik Emmels of Robeline; great-granddaughter, Haidyn Sims and great-grandson, Westyn Sims as well as a host of family and lifelong friends who were considered as family. Dale was a devoted husband, father, “Poppa Dale”, and friend to many. He was a kind, caring man that vested in helping others and always had a funny story to tell. He loved people and life, but his number one priority was his family. Fishing and hunting were a big part of his life in his younger years. He fished many bass tournaments throughout the country including the Bassmaster Classics. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and buddies. Dale was a welder by trade. The paper mill in Campti, LA, was his place of employment where he was a maintenance mechanic welder and vibrations analyst until retirement in 2009. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hospice of Natchitoches for the loving care and support they provided during this time. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Otis Barnum. Officiating pastors will be Brother Glenn Howard and Brother Danny Forsythe. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery. Family has requested a Private Service. Pallbearers will be Donnie Gunter, David Airhart, Kenny Sullivan, Michael Rivers, Marvin Lester and Greg Dunn. Honorary pallbearers are Marshall Sims, Ethan Sims, Diederik Emmels, Doug Lester and Mark Lester.
