Argie V. Scarborough Colston, born January 31, 1931, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022. She was born to Osie and Rosie Cobb Scarbrough. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, A.J. Scarbrough, J.B. Scarbrough, and J.D. “Red” Scarbrough; sisters, Juanita McCauslin; nephews, LaVelle Scarbrough and Joey Scarbrough; nieces, Barbara Graves and Kathy Caroll. Argie V. loved Jesus, her family, church family and friends. In her spare time, you could find her quilting or cooking. She answered to many names including: Maw-maw, Honey, and Aunt Argie V. She got the nickname Honey from her husband and her first great grandson kept it going. She is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, E.E. “Red” Colston. She is also survived by her daughter, Rhonda Dupree (Randy); her sons, Paul Colston (Ann) and DeWayne Colston (Kim); her grandchildren, Brandi McManus (David), Jarred Dupree (Jenny), and Stephanie Colston; her great grandchildren, Ryder Laroux (Elise), Macy Dupree, Baylee Laroux, Gretchyn Dupree, Ryan Villemarette (Morgan), Peyton Cree, Trae Creed, Jarrett McManus, and Kinsley McManus; great-great grandchildren, Marleigh Villemarette, Cashton McManus, and arriving in July, Jaxon Cole Laroux; as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be truly missed by many. She was the light of our family and we can’t wait to meet her again in heaven. A service to honor her life will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Bellwood Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Matkin officiating. Interment will follow at Provencal Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Friday, February 4th at Bellwood Baptist Church. Her grandsons and nephews are honored to serve as pallbearers, Jarred, Ryder, David, Dennis, Kenny and Danny. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the great care and compassion provided by Lagniappe Home Health, Hospice of Natchitoches, a special friend, Dolly Dupree, and her caregivers, Debra, Susan, and Pat.
