Anita Marie DeSoto Gourdon

Anita Marie DeSoto Gourdon, born on December 24, 1958, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, passed away on December 20, 2025, at Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many through her warmth and kindness. A beloved mother and grandmother, Anita's nurturing spirit and unwavering love have profoundly impacted her family and those fortunate enough to know her.

Anita is survived by her husband of 43 years, Johnny Gourdon of Clarence, LA. She leaves to cherish her memory her three children: April Gourdon and Matthew Gourdon, both of Clarence, and Amanda Hightower of Little Rock, Arkansas. As a grandmother, she adored her grandchildren, Destiny Tyler, Dillon Tebbetts, Sean Hightower and Claire Hightower and she took great joy in welcoming her great-grandchild, Kai Cook, into the world. Anita's family also includes her siblings, Judy Wilkerson of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Brenda Gourdon of St. Maurice, Louisiana, who will remember her with love.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Albert J. DeSoto and Betty Jane Conner DeSoto and a brother Billy Joe DeSoto. Their legacy and love guided her throughout her life and shaped the caring individual she became.

Anita Marie DeSoto Gourdon will be remembered not only for her role as a devoted family member but also for the bright spirit she brought to every gathering. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
