Angela Kay Wade, affectionately known as Angie, was born on October 18, 1966, in Mobile, Alabama. She lived a rich and fulfilling life until her passing on May 26, 2025, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where she had made her home since moving from Alabama in 2023 to be closer to her beloved daughter.
Angie was a warm and welcoming presence, known for her easygoing nature which made her remarkably easy to be friends with. Her interests included enjoying the simple pleasures in life, such as playing bingo, which brought her much joy and laughter.
Throughout her life, Angie was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her children, Andria Nicole Bennett (Richard) and Jarred Earl Merrill (Janie Redmond). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and joy for her: Angel Maples, Jeramia Maples, Darrion Maples, Lewis McMillian, Nevaeh McMillian, Loralie Neece, Zeva Merrill, Wilder Merrill, and Elijah Merrill. Additionally, she found happiness in her great-grandchild, Kaelan Smith. Angie also shared cherished bonds with her siblings, Cecilia Wetherington (Phillip), Kathryn Mothershead, Carl Wade Mothershead (Cherie), and Mitzy Pickle. She had numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom love her dearly.
Angie is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Mothershead and Rosa Tagert Mothershead, and two brothers, Earl and Paul Mothershead. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew and loved her.
In honor of Angela Kay Wade's life, a memorial service will be held on Friday May 30, 2025, at the Courtyard of Natchitoches in Natchitoches, Louisiana, beginning at 2:00 PM. This gathering will provide a place for family and friends to come together, share memories, and celebrate Angie's life.
