Allen proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II serving in the Asiatic-Pacific theater, where he received a Purple Heart for being wounded in combat. He was a hard worker but always liked to relax by attending dances whenever and wherever the opportunity would arise. His greatest joy on earth was his family. He was a good provider and seeing that his family’s needs were met was his top priority. He gave back to his community by being a member of the Natchitoches Sheriff’s Posse. Allen definitely enjoyed and lived his life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Solomon McFarland of Natchitoches and Betty Solomon Willett and husband Robert of Dry Prong; sons Thomas Allen Solomon and wife Laura, David Marks Solomon and wife Marianne, Richard Daniel McFarland, and Allen Joe Solomon and wife Terri all of Natchitoches.
