Albert "Brother" Fred Graves, Jr.

A service to honor the life of “Brother” Albert Fred Graves, Jr. will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Jennings Chapel in Marthaville, LA. Burial will follow at Marthaville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on the 16th at Jennings Chapel. Albert Fred Graves, Jr., known by all as Brother, passed away on August 13, 2022 at the age of 56. He was born on May 28, 1966 to Melba Jordan Cruse and Albert Fred Graves, Sr. in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Richard and Maude Jordan and V.L. and Fanny Graves He is survived by his children, Fred Graves, Dwayne Lovell and wife Katie, Ember O’Bannon and husband Shane, and Ashley Sims and husband Jason; his mother, Melba Cruse and husband Pete; sisters, Ponda Broadway and husband Kevin, Ronda Rains and husband Bill, Fonda Russell and husband Bryan, Denise Smith and husband Lonnie; a brother, Stacy Cruse and wife Kristen; he was blessed with 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Brother’s door was always opened. To anyone. Day or night.. stay as long as you like. He was the community go to.. get a water leak.. call Brother. Have a flat tire.. call Brother.. car won’t start.. call Brother! In need of a water connection, part for anything, his response.. “I think I’ve got one of those, be back in a minute.” Brother was incredibly loved and will be sorely missed.. But.. he’ll be back in a minute! Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Adam Graves, Josh Clark, Dustin Meshell, Tim Carnline, Stacy Cruse, and Shane O’Bannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Dale Jordan and Ronny Arterberry.
