Funeral service for Gladys Mae McCullough Champion will be held 10 AM Friday, April 15, 2011 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Tommy Rush officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery at Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Champion, 97, of Natchitoches, La., died Monday, April 11, 2011, at Many Healthcare North in Many, La. She was a native of Pleasant Hill, La. She was a homemaker, renowned cook, gardener and a member of First Baptist Church of Natchitoches, La. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roderick Marion Champion; grandson, Roderick Marion Champion; parents, James McCullough and Marshy Allen McCullough; brothers, Vernal McCullor and W. J. McCullough. She is survived by one daughter, Marion Gayle Bertrand and husband James of New Braunfels, Tx.; one son, Von Champion and wife Chris of Many, La.; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Willie Landry and Orvella Malone both of Lake Charles, La.
